Whey Protein Drinks

Whether you always love training or wish you didn’t have to train sometimes, chances are, most people have one thing in common: they dislike having to constantly prepare and consume meals. Whey protein drinks have experienced a huge boom in popularity as informed individuals have recognized they are an outstanding source of nutrients and can help them to achieve their goals quicker.

Whey protein drinks come in numerous forms, notably whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate. Each is listed in the general order of purity and refinement.

For the casual trainee looking to include whey protein drinks in their diet, whey protein concentrate will be just fine; even athletes of a more serious nature use concentrate to good effect. Being as whey protein concentrate isn’t as processed as the others, it’s cheaper, making it a more affordable option.

Convenience may be a big part of why whey protein drinks are so popular but it doesn’t end there. Whey protein is the most rapidly digestible, highest BV (bioavailability) complete protein around. During times when the body is in need of a quick shot of protein – post workout, breakfast, etc – there is no better choice than whey protein drinks to kick start muscle repair and recovery.

Most whey protein drinks come in self-mix powder form. A fluid of choice is added – be it water, milk, fruit juice, etc – and the powder gradually mixed. (Note: See how to mix whey protein properly). More recently, whey protein drinks are also available in so-called RTD form, which stands for ready to drink, making the convenience of supplementing even more convenient.
