It’s important people have a good understanding of how certain exercises hit certain muscles. Without this knowledge, how can one hope to follow a comprehensive training program designed to hit all or most major muscles in the body? If you look on the internet you will see a ton of articles talking about which muscles are activated by which exercises, and sometimes the opinions are pretty conflicting leaving people swamped in a soup of confusion. First I’ll state the obvious: Given everyone has different bone structures and muscular imbalances, not everybody reaps the same benefits as everyone else when performing the same exercises. Some people may claim a certain exercise ‘kills’ – in a good way – certain muscles, yet when you perform the exercise, it may do very little for you. That’s just the way it is, so bare this in mind always when trying to find the best exercises for you.
